18th March;
We have had a fantastic week the children have been well and truly seeped in information about the Celts. The children have basically learned that the Celts were farmers in Wales a long long time ago, that they kept animals for their food and for their fleece. That they grew crops, corn for flour, and collected wood for their fires, their homes were the round houses. We have made bread and butter which the children enjoyed, coloured cloth with berries, and made jewellery.
On Wednesday we went up to the round house and frightened the baddies (Romans) with our blue masks when they tried to steal the animals!!!
Therefore the knights and castles have been delayed until next week. Thank-you to the parents who have kindly sent in swords and shields.
We are hoping that our outside area is imminent I approached Business in the Community who has then contacted different firms who will be coming to do the work as a team building project. Can't wait it will make such a difference. But, yes there is always a but!! We need to raise money to pay for the surrounding fence, and possibly for the hand rail. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I will be holding a Bingo at the end of term so if you know any contacts that may support please let me know.
Thank- you Jane. |
