Each class teacher will vary the amount and content of homework they send home. However your child should be bringing work home each week.
 
* Please ask your child if they have homework
 
* Discuss the topic of the homework and ask them about what they already know on that topic
 
* Read through the homework together, and attempt the first few questions together, and answer them if necessary
 
* Then ask your child to attempt the rest on their own
 
* Check over the work at the end, and talk about any areas where they were stuck
 
* Sign the homework to show you've seen it and helped
 
* Try not to do the work for them, as this will not help them in the long run
 
* Then help your child to remember to take the work back to school when the class teacher has asked for it
